June is an exciting time of month for me! The start of the summer, more vacations and camping trips, and it was time for Kababayang Pilipino's anniversary show. KP was in preparations for their 22nd anniversary show, IPASA, meaning "to pass on", and I was so excited to be asked to capture it again for another year.
Fresh from their performances overseas in Italy at the cultural performing arts festival, Latium Festival, the KP was getting ready to put on a great performance and showcase the next generation of KP performers, otherwise known as The KP Kids. Their two wonderful teachers, Melanie and Michelle, who are long-time KP members, definitely brought a star out of each one of those kids that night! The theatre lit with smartphone and tablet screens as parents and other relatives eagerly took pictures and videos of their little entertainer each time they entered the stage. I absolutely loved the emotional last number as you witness the passing on of the princess fans between Melanie and her KP Kid daughter, Lauryn.
As always, it is such an honour to be able to capture the images of the makings of each of their anniversary shows and getting to know everyone even more each year for the past 4 shows <3
Here are a few highlights from the weekend:
